Divine Diminishment

  • Sometimes less is more
  • Sometimes numbers get in God's way
  • Sometimes the church must shrink before it can grow
  • Sometimes God will diminish the numbers in order to get a majority
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

You've heard it said, "God and me make a majority." Well, it's true; it doesn't take a lot to make a majority. The Word of God is replete with examples of small majorities; Gideon is just one example(Judges 7:2).

As Christians, we have learned to put our trust in the Lord; we are secure in knowing that God is in control of everything. True Christians don't have an inferiority complex - we know in whom we have believed (II Tim. 1:12).

There is a difference between confidence and arrogance. "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13) is a statement of the grace of God working in us enabling us to do the impossible.

You may be facing less hours, less money, and less friends, but remember Who's side your on!

"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty.." Zepheniah 3:17

"..Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5
